In our opinion, the
Ragdoll is a cat like no other. It's affectionate in a genuine way un-like the aloof nature of your typical domestic cat. That doesn't mean that it will always want to sit with you, but you will be welcomed home and will be more than likely to find yourself followed around the house. They like to be where you are - and may even join in the conversation with you! A Loving cat with the companionship you'd expect of a dog.
In a nutshell Ragdoll's love people.
The
Ragdoll can be a gentle giant being one of the largest breeds of domestic cat. However, they aren't the most "Streetwise" of cats and should not generally be allowed outside the home - although they will often try to get out ! Many enjoy supervised access to a secure
garden .
Because of their history or evolution as a breed, Ragdoll's
were originally thought to feel no pain - this is completely un-true and like any other pet need to be looked after properly.
As part of your family they are laid-back and are unlikely to be scared by noise or other distractions, fitting
in well with other household residents such as children and dogs.
Being
semi-longhaired a Ragdoll's coat seldom mats, provided it is combed or brushed regularly.
This makes it the ideal cat for those looking for a longer coated cat, but who
don't want to spend hours with a brush every day.
We've been enjoying the company of Ragdolls for more than 12 years but have always kept them as members of the family, living in our house with us (not like many other breeders keeping them in a shed outside). This way we can share in the development of their personality - and as a result our cats have character, love people and are good to be with. Hence our breeder name, Aragmatherapy says it all!
